Title: Resident Director

Supervisor: Associate Director, Student Housing & Residential Education

Term of Position: 12 month, part –time (nonexempt)

Hours: Approximately 20-25 office hours per week plus emergency on call hours

Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2011

Job Description

The Resident director is a part-time live in residence education staff member in a diverse residence education program that houses 550 students in traditional halls. The Resident director is under the direct supervision of the Associate Director, Student Housing and Residential Education. The Resident director will provide leadership and management direction to 4-12 Resident Assistants in programming, community development, and policy enforcement. The Resident director will adjudicate first level conduct cases occurring in the halls within set guidelines. The Resident director serves as a member of the after hours Emergency Response Team, on call responsibilities are equally shared amongst the Resident directors. This position will be involved in University and Department committees. The Resident director will show commitment to the University mission and is encouraged to be in involved with the University Community. This is a live in position. It has flexible daily and weekly work schedules including: regular meetings, scheduled office hours (spread over 4 days of the work week), and evening, weekend and on duty requirements as dictated by program needs.

Remuneration

1 furnished on campus apartment. A university sponsored meal plan is provided when the dining halls are open. Furthermore, a $5,000 stipend to be distributed equally over a 12 month period.
