CALSA Volunteers - A Professional Networking Opportunity!

The Rossier School of Education and the Ed.D. Program Office is hosting the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA) fourth annual Conclave on Friday, March 23, 2012.

EDSA is partnering with the Ed.D. Program Office to provide current Ed.D. students an opportunity for professional development and networking.  Students attending the conference will serve as small group facilitators following presentations by prominent research faculty.  As a facilitator, you will lead discussions among practitioners on relating the research to solutions for problems of practice.

If you are interested in volunteering at the 2012 CALSA Conclave please email us at uscedsa@usc.edu for program details and volunteer interest form.  Volunteer interest form must be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, February 24, 2012.

33rd Pullias Lecture Looks at Games in Learning

This year's lecture on Monday, April 4 will feature James Paul Gee, Mary Lou Fulton Presidential Professor of Literacy Studies at Arizona State University and a renowned author on video games and learning. His remarks, titled "Games, Learning and the Looming Crisis of Higher Education," will examine emerging research about how games, social media and digital technologies can affect the way students learn.

Henry Jenkins, USC Provost's Professor of Communication, Journalism and Cinematic Arts and Education, will serve as a discussant. Tracy Fullerton, associate professor and holder of the Electronic Arts Endowed Chair in Interactive Entertainment at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, will moderate the discussion.

The event, which is expected to have a capacity audience, will be held in Davidson Conference Center at 4 pm.
